All Blue Rhino Auger Compactors utilize a Double-Row Slewing Ring
Bearing. “Double-Row” means there are two rows of balls in the
bearing housing, making it incredibly strong and durable. This type
of bearing is similar to what is used on tank turrets and large cranes.
The bearing is mounted to the back wall of the Auger Compactor
frame with ¾” grade 8 fasteners. On our 10, 15 and 20 horsepower
Auger Compactors, the auger screw and the drivetrain sprocket are
mounted to the bearing together, with ¾” grade 8 fasteners. On our
40 horsepower Auger Compactor, we do not use sprockets, instead
the motor / gearbox is connected directly to the auger screw through
a heavy-duty flex-coupling.
10 and 15 hp Blue Rhino Auger Compactors utilize a Double-Row
Slewing Ring Bearing measuring 30” in diameter. 20 and 40 hp Blue
Rhino Auger Compactors utilize a 41”diameter Double-Row Bearing.
